The Declaration of Conformity must contain all the information required to identify the EU legislation for which it is issued. Its content varies between the different EU directives and regulations, but typically the following items must be present:
- The title 'Declaration of Conformity'
- The sentence "This declaration of conformity is issued under the sole responsibility of the manufacturer" or another similar statement
- Business name and address of the manufacturer
- Contact details of the authorised representative, if relevant
- Some form of identification allowing the product's traceability (e.g. model number or type number)
- Where relevant, the name, address and ID number of the EU Notified Body responsible for the conformity assessment procedure
- A list of all relevant CE directives and regulations the product complies with
- A list of all safety standards (EN, ISO, IEC) used for verifying the product's compliance with the relevant directives and regulations
- Signature details of the manufacturer (name, work designation and signature)
- The place and date of issuing the Declaration of Conformity
- Additional information, such as product photos.
